Moline, Illinois Evelyn M. Moore, 94, formerly of Moline, died Monday, August 23, 2004, in Carriage Court Assisted Living, Memphis, Tennessee. Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend Joseph Gardiner officiating. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Visitation is one-half hour before the services. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity. The former Evelyn May Carey was born November 30, 1909, in Carbon Cliff, Illinois, the daughter of Roy F. and Selma (Fahlstrom) Carey. She graduated from Moline High School and Augustana College. She married Rauland W. "Bill" Moore on August 3, 1954, in Silvis, and the couple moved to Vallejo, California. From 1928 until her marriage, she taught in Rock Island County, Bowlesburg, Carbon Cliff and Silvis schools. After her marriage, she taught in Vallejo schools for 14 years. She returned to Moline after her husband's death in 1983, and resided in Paulson Manor and was a member of the former Aldersgate United Methodist Church. In 1991, she moved to Memphis, where she was a member of Germantown Baptist Church. She was a lifetime member of Rose Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, Silvis, and a member of California and Illinois Retired Teachers Associations. Evelyn is survived by a niece, Janice L. Reynolds of Germantown, Tennessee; three great-nieces, Cynthia McCain of Acworth, Georgia, Kari Cantrell of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Kitti Cornell of Hobe Sound, Florida; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews.
