Essie Golden

Essie Golden, 90, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at home.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home.

The former Essie Harris was born December 3, 1929, in Arkansas, the daughter of Emanuel and Annie Mae (Barnes) Harris. She married Hillman Golden, who preceded her in death.

She was a gifted seamstress and enjoyed cooking and gardening.

Essie is survived by a son, Floyd (fiancé Gwen Gathright) Golden of Rock Island; two grandsons, Terrell Jarrett and Adrian Burse; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a granddaughter, Tina Turner; two sisters, and nine brothers.
