Erling Catlin, 97, of Wilton, Iowa, formerly of Silvis, Illinois, passed through to eternity on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Wilton Retirement Community.
Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2022, at Rock Island National Cemetery, where the East Moline American Legion Post #227 will present military honors. Those wishing to attend should meet in the parking lot at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street at 1:45 p.m. Memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity.
Erling V. Catlin was born July 4, 1925, in Chicago, Illinois and married Janet L. Dykstra May 28, 1966 in Davenport, IA. He served in the Navy during World War II aboard the USS Maryland. He was a Member of Union Congregational Church in Moline, AMVETS Post #145, VFW 2056, American Legion Post #227, and Masonic Lodge #1014 AM&AF.
He is survived by his wife Janet and was preceded in death by his Parents Peter and Marie Catlin, Sister Shirley Weller, and Son Scott Catlin.
