Moline, Illinois Private services for Emma M. DeRoo, 88, formerly of Moline, are 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. DeRoo died Thursday, May 3, 2001, in Parkview Health Care Center, East Moline. The former Emma Poelvoorde was born July 18, 1912, in Belgium, the daughter of Petrus and Elodie (Maertens) Poelvoorde. She married Gerard DeRoo on July 3, 1937, in Moline. He died February 5, 1998. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, East Moline, and was a former member of the Association for Retarded Citizens and was a longtime volunteer for them. Emma is survived by three children and spouses, Dan and Janet DeRoo of Colona, Ann Marie and Jim McClary of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Joseph DeRoo of Moline; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
