Elmer Ray Hawkins

Elmer "Ray" Hawkins, Jr., 69, of Riverdale, Iowa, died Saturday, December 23, 2017, in Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport, Iowa.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

Ray was born June 9, 1948, in Rock Island, Illinois, to Elmer Ray and Gladys Atkins Hawkins. He was a die hard Cardinal fan, enjoyed playing pool and darts and spending time with his friends and family. He had a very special bond with his mother and grandson, "Eli."

He is survived by his mother, Gladys Hawkins of Moline; children and spouses, Scott Hawkins, Steven and Chrissy Hawkins of Moline, Danielle and Nick Grindstaff of Johnson City, Tennessee, and Heather Hawkins and Misty Hawkins, both of Davenport; 11 grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandra and Ivan Walters of Colona, Illinois, and Cynthia and Todd Davis of Rock Island; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Patti Hawkins of Surprise, Arizona; and his special friend, Lori Bahnks of Davenport.
