Elizabeth F. "Betty" Hoppe

Elizabeth F. "Betty" Hoppe, 97, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Friday, October 7, 2016, at Silver Cross Health and Rehabilitation Pavilion, Rock Island.

Services are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Private burial is in Maple Hill Cemetery in Gladbrook, Iowa. Memorials may be made to Silver Cross. Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory, Moline, is assisting the family.

The former Elizabeth Frances O'Connor was born February 14, 1919, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Mr. and Mrs. James O'Connor. She married Harold Hoppe on January 14, 1946, in Philadelphia. He died February 9, 2012. She worked as a private duty nurse for many years.

She was active in the Moline Junior Women's Club, Moline Senior Women's Club, and the local Toastmistress Club.

Betty is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard Hoppe of Seattle, Washington, and Mark and Jeanne Hoppe of Rockford, Illinois; three granddaughters, Kara and Charles Chipman of Los Angeles, California, Allison and Robert Headlee of Seattle, and Claire Hoppe of Chicago; and three great-grandchildren, Aden, Peyton, and Harper Headlee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; two sisters, Anne and Georgina; and a brother, Thomas.
