Elizabeth M. ?Betty? Hall, 86, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Thursday, September 6, 2012, in her home, surrounded by family.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Coal Valley, with Father Jim DeBisschop officiating. Visitation is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley, with a rosary at 3:30 p.m. and a time of sharing for family and friends at 6:30 p.m. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church or the family.
The former Elizabeth Mary Steinhauser was born May 29, 1926, in Escanaba, Michigan, the daughter of William Edward and Mary Elizabeth (Quinn) Steinhauser. She married Eric Bengt Hall on December 15, 1945, in Rock Island, Illinois. He died August 23, 1995.
Betty worked for several area businesses including Nagel?s Grocery in Coal Valley. She was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Svithiod Club in Moline. She enjoyed bowling, and served as President of the Women?s Bowling Association. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Betty is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ross and Margo Hall of Coal Valley; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Jim Goode of New Windsor, Deb and John Cornelis of Moline, and Mindi and Mike Timm of Moline; a daughter-in-law, Katie Hall of New Windsor; 13 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Brian Hall, and siblings, Bill and Janet Steinhauser.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Okba and Dr. Porubcin, along with their staffs and all the other caregivers.
