Edward Woodrow Robinson

Moline, Illinois Dr. Edward Woodrow Robinson, 84, of Moline, Illinois, formerly of Macomb, Illinois, died Wednesday, December 18, 2002, in his home. Memorial services are 12:00 (Noon) Monday, January 6, 2003, at Salem Lutheran Church, Moline. The Reverend Thomas O. Peterson will officiate. Burial is in National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal, where Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. Memorials may be made to the Pat Crane Memorial Theater, Macomb. Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, is in charge of arrangements. Dr. Robinson was born February 26, 1918, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the son of Charles and Minnie (Kaar) Robinson. He married Arleen Schultze on April 26, 1942, in Stanton, Nebraska. She died November 5, 1997. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during WW II. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1949, and received both his masters and doctorate degrees in education from the University of Missouri in Columbia. He was professor of counseling at Western Illinois University, Macomb, for 19 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Moline, and Trinity Lutheran Church, Macomb. He was co-founder and builder with his wife of Robin Redbreast Day Care Center, Macomb, president and director of the Pat Crane Memorial Theater, Macomb, and founding director the Macomb Heritage Days. He enjoyed laughter, music, comedy, and, most of all, people. Woody is survived by four children, Robin Robinson of Key West, Florida, Harry Robinson of Fox Point, Wisconsin, Michael Robinson of Richardson, Texas, and Rene Robinson of Moline; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sisters, Theodora Greiss of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Maxine Connelly of Sarasota, Florida.
