Edna J. Allen, 97, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, September 12, 2016, at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, immediately followed by a luncheon at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe, with Reverend Anne Lippincott of St. John's United Methodist Church, Davenport, and Reverend Sonia Alvarado officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Cremation will take place prior to services at Trimble Crematory. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, New Brighton, Pennsylvania, at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Center for Communication Disorders at Augustana College.

The former Edna Jane Roush was born June 17, 1919, in New Brighton, the daughter of Enos and Caroline (Smith) Roush. She married Milton Allen on October 22, 1942, in New Brighton. He died September 9, 1994.

She worked for Pennsylvania Bell Telephone for 38 years, retiring as chief operator around 1974.

She was a 70-year member of Calvary United Presbyterian Church in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, serving the church in many capacities over the years. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and volunteered at Geneva College and the Community Resource and Learning Center in Moline.

Edna enjoyed sewing and crocheting, traveling, playing cards, and was an excellent bowler and cake-baker. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara and James Roseman of Moline; two granddaughters, Laura and Matthew Middleton of Oakwood, Ohio, and Sarah and Brian Angarone of Park Ridge, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Jane and Claire Middleton, and Callie, Grace, and Jack Angarone; and many beloved nieces and nephews, and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband, and brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Virginia Roush, and Jack and Joan Roush.
