Moline, Illinois Edith Elizabeth Wallaert, 91, of Moline, died Tuesday, October 14, 2003, in the emergency room at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, with The Reverend Gregory Mayer, First Lutheran Church, Rock Island, officiating. Burial is in Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Visiting Nurse and Homemaker Association. The former Edith Elizabeth Pearson was born on the Ides of March, March 15, 1912, on her family's farm in rural Bureau County, Illinois, the youngest of four children born to Magnus and Elizabeth (Olson) Pearson. She married Jule S. Wallaert on November 5, 1938, in Princeton, Illinois. They shared 55 years of marriage before his death on February 12, 1994. She had been employed in the cafeteria at Moline High School and retired from Peters Bakery, Moline. First and foremost, she was a homemaker. She was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, East Moline, and had been active in PTA at Willard School, Moline. She loved her home and following her children's and grandchildren's many activities. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma. She was happiest when surrounded by her devoted family, who will miss her beautiful smile, loving spirit and gentle ways. Edith is survived by four children and their spouses, James J. Wallaert of Pittsburgh, PA, Jerry J. Wallaert of Moline, Mary Ellen and George Wall of Bettendorf, and Michael H. and Judith Wallaert of Moline; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Judith and Kenneth Yurek, John Wallaert, Leigh Ann and Kevin Phillips, Christopher Wallaert, Wendy and Sean Coghlan, Andrew and Kami Wall, Katherine and Patrick Galvin, and Thomas Wallaert; and 17 great-grandchildren, Holly, Steven, Robyn, Jeffrey, Scott, and Jason Yurek, Allyson, Tiffanie, and Wendie Wallaert, Patrique Ludan, Eva Lee Phillips, Davis, William and Jane Coghlan, Annalise and Andrew Wall, and Michael Galvin; a nephew and his wife, Glen and Norma Jean Pearson; and a niece and her husband, Betty Ann and Bill Lohse; and four great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant granddaughter, Elizabeth Rose Wallaert, her parents, sisters, Ellen Emery and Agnes Pearson, and a brother, Pete Pearson. May they rest in peace.
