Illinois City, Illinois Earl O. Olson, 96, of Illinois City, died Tuesday, April 30, 2002 at Trinity West Medical Center, Rock Island. Funeral Services for Mr. Olson will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM at the Buffalo Prairie United Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Buffalo Prairie Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 6 to 8 PM at Trimble Funeral Home, Aledo, with Masonic Rites at 8:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Buffalo Prairie United Presbyterian Church or the Buffalo Prairie Volunteer Fire Department. Earl was born on September 19, 1905 in Seaton, Illinois to Charles and Freida (Carlson) Olson. He married Florence Boruff on September 19, 1934 in Aledo. Earl farmed his entire life. He also worked for the State of Illinois as a TWI scale inspector, retiring after 18 years. Earl was a member of the Buffalo Prairie United Presbyterian Church; a 50 year member of the Buffalo Prairie Masonic Lodge #679 AF & AM and the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Moline. He loved spending time with his family, especially taking them all out to eat. Earl is survived by his wife of 67 years, Florence; a son and daughter-in-law, John & Martha Olson of Joy; grandchildren and their families: Michelle & Joe Hall and their children, Ashley, Danielle, Jerri & Jordan all of Taylor Ridge; and Rob & Tammy Olson and their children, Jake and Brittany all of Illinois City; and a sister, Ruth Peterson of Grand Rapids, MI.
