Dorothy R. Conway, 89, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, December 26, 2022, at home.


A hospitality gathering to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2023, at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe, in the lower level at 701 12th Street, Moline. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.


The former Dorothy Ruth Miller was born July 12, 1933, in West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of John Jr. and Dorothy Ruth (Fettterolf) Miller. She married Lawrence J. Conway II on July 30, 1954, in Philadelphia. He died November 24, 2013.


Dorothy worked as a secretary/bookkeeper for several places including Washington Township High School in Turnersville, New Jersey, and for D&L Interiors, which she ran with her husband. She enjoyed watching classic movies on television, reading, and Motown music.


Dorothy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Lawrence III and Linda Conway of Colona, Illinois, and her grandson and his partner, Lawrence Conway IV and Angela Angers of Las Vegas, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, and her granddaughter, Elizabeth Marie Castner.
