Dorothy Mlekush

Dorothy H. Mlekush, 82, of Moline, Illinois, died unexpectedly in her home Sunday, September 10, 2017.

Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory following the visitation. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with The Rev. Dr. Wilfred Karsten officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Friends are invited to join the family at a funeral luncheon at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe following the burial. Memorials may be made to Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.

The former Dorothy Helen Trent was born August 9, 1935, in Wyoming County, West Virginia, to Drewrey and Hazel Hatfield Trent. She married Ronald Richard Mlekush on June 6, 1955, in Tazewell, Virginia. She was an elementary teacher at Carbon Cliff schools for 22 years, retiring in 1991. She previously taught in Moline and East Moline. She loved her family, and enjoyed reading, traveling, antiquing, and spending time by the water.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Ron; four children and spouses, Rick and Vicki Mlekush of Colona, Illinois, Keith Mlekush of Murphysboro, Illinois, Sherry Reid of Davenport, Iowa, and Mark and MaryAnn Mlekush of DeForest, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren; one step-grandchild; ten great-grandchildren; and her sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Robert Childers of Hanover, Maryland.
