Dorothy Looser Flake, 93, of Bettendorf, Iowa, formerly of Rock Island and Mercer County, Illinois, died Friday, May 26, 2006, in Iowa Masonic Health Facility, Bettendorf.
Services are 10 a.m. Friday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in Eliza Creek Cemetery, Eliza, Illinois.
The former Dorothy May Looser was born May 5, 1913, in New Boston, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Nola (Irwin) Looser. She married Kenneth L. Flake on June 23, 1951, in Kewanee, Illinois. He died August 30, 1951. Dorothy taught 5th grade in Rock Island Public Schools for many years, retiring in 1966. She previously taught in New Boston, Illinois, and Long Island, New York.
She was a member of Mother Church, First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, Massachusetts, and National Retired Teachers Association. She loved to travel and traveled extensively with her sister.
Dorothy is survived by her sister.
