Dorothy L. Watson, 90, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, April 4, 2013, in Hospice House ? Woodside, Pinellas Park, Florida.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend Beth Rupp officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is one hour before the services. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or First Christian Church, Moline.
The former Dorothy Louise Cline was born July 30, 1922, in Moline, the daughter of Herman and Ruth Christopher Cline. She married Donald Watson on June 6, 1943, in Burlington, Iowa. He died April 26, 2005. She was a secretary at International Harvester East Moline Works, retiring in 1981. Following retirement, she worked in the Children?s Department at Moline Public Library.
She was a member of First Christian Church, Moline, Golden Circle Class at the church, Irene Zimmer Circle of King?s Daughters, and a member of International Harvester Girls Club for 55 years. She enjoyed bridge, bowling, needlework, knitting, reading, and cooking.
Dorothy is survived by a son, David Larry Watson of Vadnais Heights, Minnesota; a daughter, Nancy Russell of Clearwater, Florida; two grandsons and their wives, David and Devon Russell and Marc and Tina Russell; a great-grandson, Bruce Russell; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Herman ?Jack? Cline of Davenport, Iowa, and Richard and Barbara Cline of Wilmington, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; a daughter-in-law, Dianne Watson; a son-in-law, Bruce Russell; and sisters, Betty Whicker and Marian Waltman.
