Dorothy J. Johnson

Dorothy J. Johnson, 87, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Monday, June 26, 2017, in Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.

A family memorial service will be held Thursday. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home, Moline.

The former Dorothy Jean Alter was born July 18, 1929, in Trenton, Iowa, to John R. and Gratice Edwards Alter. She married Jack C. Johnson in 1959, in Moline. He died November 11, 2000.

Dorothy is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Mike Wyatt of East Moline; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a niece, Imagene Jensen of East Moline; and a nephew and his wife, Richard and Carrie Ferrier of Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Johnean VanTine; and a sister, Betty Ferrier.
