Doris M. Vandaele

Doris M. VanDaele, 80, of Colona, Illinois, died Thursday, May 5, 2016, in her home.

Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley, Illinois, with The Reverend Sandra Bunnell officiating. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Visitation is one hour before the services. Memorials may be made to Colona United Methodist Church, where she had been an active member..

The former Doris Mae Lundquist was born April 12, 1936, in Oneida, Illinois, to Harry Walter and Leota (Roach) Lundquist. She married Robert Alidar VanDaele on June 4, 1955, in Coal Valley. He died April 7, 1997. She was a cook at Geneseo High School for 27 years, retiring in 2002.

Doris is survived by three sons, Michael VanDaele of East Moline, Scott VanDaele of Rock Island, and John VanDaele and his wife Stephanie of Herrin, Illinois; two grandchildren, Andrew and Madeline VanDaele; and siblings and spouses, Phyllis and Roy Akers of Coal Valley, Carol McCall of East Moline, Betty Porter of Galesburg, Illinois, and Jim and Roseann Lundquist of Springfield, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; a sister, Jean VanDeVoorde; and brother, Harry Lundquist.
