The former Doris Mae Wakeman was born January 8, 1918, in Sparta, Wisconsin, to Leo and Ethel Eshelman Wakeman. She married Lyle H. Brogley on August 31, 1940, in Sparta. He died May 15, 1991. She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church, Moline, Katherine Walther Circle of King's Daughters, Moline Chapter #258, Order of Eastern Star, and Saukie Ladies Golf Organization. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed playing the piano.

Doris is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Judy and Jim Brumbaugh of East Moline, and Carol Peterson of Fort Myers, Florida; four grandchildren, Derek Peterson and his wife Jennifer, Charlie Peterson and his wife Sara, Kirk Peterson, and Julie VanPelt Johnson and her husband Kent; six great-grandchildren, Samantha Drew Gordon and her husband Brady, Victoria Drews, Alexia Eve Stetson, John VanPelt, Lila Peterson, and Emma Peterson; and a sister, Helen Warriner of Verona, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her husband; and a sister and brothers-in-law, Lee and Richard Roman and Harry Warriner.

The family will continue to be strong advocates of Hope Creek. It is an amazing place where Mom resided for nearly four years. She often said she felt like a princess since moving there. The staff and residents became friends to us all. We thank them for their caring.

Doris's family invites friends to share stories and condolences and light a free candle in her memory at www.TrimbleFuneralHomes.com.
