Doris L. Otte

Moline, Illinois Doris L. Otte, 81, of Moline, died Tuesday, December 24, 2002, at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. The Reverend Dr. Kenneth Kline will officiate. Entombment is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is one hour before the services. Memorials may be made to Quad City Symphony Orchestra Association or First Christian Church, Moline. The former Doris Lucille Garvey was born December 28, 1920, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Alva and Flora (Dagle) Garvey. She married Edwin J. Otte on December 7, 1946, in Rock Island. He died February 23, 1997. In earlier years, she was a secretary at the former Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Company. She was a member of First Christian Church, Moline, and had been active in PTA. She was an avid birdwatcher, enjoyed classical music, and was a supporter of the Quad City Symphony Orchestra. Doris is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and John Ziah of Morton, Illinois, and Nancy and Dr. John Oppenheimer of Moline; four grandchildren and their spouses, Sarah Ziah, Amy and Brandon Janowiak, Laura and Joel Oppenheimer Odom, and Karl Oppenheimer. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Earl and Ronald Garvey.
