Donna Williams, 72, of Orion, Illinois, died Sunday, April 23, 2017, in UnityPoint Health, Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois

Private graveside services are Friday at Coal Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley, is serving the family.

The former Donna Lee Saunders was born August 19, 1944, in Avon, Illinois, to William and Estalee Scalf Saunders. She worked as a teachers aid at Blackhawk Area Education Center for 28 years. She loved her students and referred to them as her "kids." She loved teaching them skills such as gardening and cooking. She was a sports fan and especially enjoyed the Dallas Cowboys, Fighting Illini, and Chicago Cubs.

Survivors are her fiancé, David Peterson of Orion; three children, Melody Panno of Moline, Brenda Larson of Columbia, Illinois, and Gary Williams, Jr. of Moline; five grandchildren, Cougar Peck, Corey Ramsey, Karli and Emily Larson, and Brady Williams; and a great-grandchild, Pearl Ramsey. She was preceded in death by her brother, Williams Saunders.
