Coal Valley, Illinois Dennis G. Ford, 57, of Coal Valley, formerly of Rancho Cucamonga, California, died Thursday, October 28, 2004, in Trinity Medical Center, Moline. A service recognizing a life well-lived will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Cremation will follow the services. A memorial fund in his name will be established by his family for local volunteer fire departments. Since moving from California two years ago, Dennis has worked with various departments to improve their safety and skills. An additional service honoring Dennis will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 13, at Valencia High School auditorium, Placentia, California. Dennis Grady Ford was born February 4, 1947, in San Francisco, California, the son of Woodfin Grady and Thelma Torgerson Ford. He married Joyce Humphrey Gallegos on April 21, 1993, in Rancho Cucamonga. He was with fire service for 33 years. He retired as Fire Captain Paramedic from the Orange County Fire Department in 2001, and previously was with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. He was currenly employed by the Henry County Health Department to write an emergency disaster plan. He belonged to various firefighter associations and coached Little League Baseball and Pop Warner Football. He loved traveling and watching football. Dennis is survived by his wife, Joyce; two children, Deborah Kay Sifuentes and her husband Alex of San Antonio, Texas, and Darrin G. Ford of Long Beach, California; step-children, Sherry Vermillion and her husband Grant of Huntington Beach, California, David Gallegos and Lisa Gallegos, both of Santa Ana, California; a foster son, Bill Anderson of Queensbury, New York; six grandchildren; sisters, Candice Bloomfield of Ontario, California, and Kimberly Bucholz of Victorville, California; a half-brother, Richard Larson of Turlock, California; and a half-sister, Sondra McDonald of Australia.
