Delmar E. ?Del? Enlow, 78, of Milan, Illinois, died Friday, August 12, 2005, in the Emergency Room at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Bethel Wesley United Methodist Church, Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal, where Moline American Legion will present military honors. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.
Delmar Eugene Enlow was born November 15, 1926, in Gillespie, Illinois, the son of William and Clara (Zoller) Enlow. He served in the U. S. Army in WW II. He married Marilyn Ward on July 10, 1949, in Gillespie. He was a truck driver of Eagle Foods for 23 years, retiring in 1989. He then worked for Bush Farms, Truck Country, and Jerry Boldt Trucking.
Delmar was a member of Bethel Wesley United Methodist Church, Moline, where he served as an usher for several years. He belonged to the Teamsters Union Local 371, VFW Post #4547 in Gillespie, Mississippi Valley Country Western Music Association, and Eagle Foods Retired Truck Drivers Friday Breakfast Club. He was a devoted Chicago Cubs fan and was always waiting for the pennant. He enjoyed being with his family, his friends, and his dog ?Bugsy,? and loved to watch his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in all their activities. He loved playing slots on the riverboats and liked to spend time in his yard, garden and garage.
Del is survived by his wife, Marilyn; five children and their spouses, Bob Enlow of Moline, Jeri and Walt Hodge of Milan, Jodi Petoskey of Moline, and Bill and Melissa Enlow and Jack and Christine Enlow, all of Rock Island; nine grandchildren, two grandsons-in-law, five step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; and a half-sister, JoAnn Less of Staunton, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold.
