Dean P. Genung, 75, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, November 5, 2018, at his home.

Private services for family will be held Saturday at Dean's residence. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to family for a fund to be established.

Dean Phillip Genung was born February 26, 1943, in Moline, the son of Ralph and Dorothy (Eisenhauer) Genung. He married Colleen Covert, who survives. Previously, he had been married to Diann Wells. He served in the U.S. Army and worked for John Deere Harvester for 30 years, retiring in 1994.

He was a member of Local 865. He was also a jack of all trades and handyman who enjoyed woodworking, boating, rebuilding cars, and going to car shows.

Dean is survived by his wife, Colleen, of Aledo, Illinois; his son, David Genung of Milan, Illinois; his sister, Audrey Ann (Ralph) Edgar of Port Byron, Illinois; a step-son, Jeff (Sherri) Papish; step-grandchildren, Whitney (Donald) Baccus, Jimmy Polk, Nicole Polk, and Megan (Jerry) Leihsing; and step-great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Dayton, Skylee, Anabella, and Brianna. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kay Lynnette Fath.
