David E. Fawks

David E. Fawks, 79, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, December 3, 2018, at Lakeland Regional Center in Lakeland, Florida.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.

David Edward Fawks was born May 23, 1939, in Moline, the son of Elton and Vera (Johnson) Fawks. He married Barbara Chapman on March 18, 1977, in East Moline. He was a painter for Case IH for 32 years.

David and Barbara moved to Tampa, Florida, in 1993, and he was an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan. He enjoyed playing games on his iPad, playing cards and reading, and taking fishing trips to Minnesota. Above all else, family was the most important thing to David, and he treasured keeping up on all the accomplishments of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; children, David (Leslie) Fawks of Sarasota, Florida, Ronald (Staci) Fawks of Calera, Alabama, Daniel (Michelle) Fawks of Clanton, Alabama, Leonora (Benjamin) Gabbard of Wesley Chapel, Florida, Douglas (Tamara) Lofgren of Lakeland, and Michael (Vicki) Lofgren of East Moline; 23 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patricia Jackson.
