David B. Menke, 83, of Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2900 Avenue of the Cities, Moline, with The Rev. Don Knowles officiating. Visitation is 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Memorials may be made to the church.

David Bernard Menke was born September 28, 1938, in Houghton, Iowa, the son of Christopher and Rose (Pomberg) Menke. He served in the U.S. Navy, spending two years stationed in Alaska. He married Annette Davis on September 25, 1960, in Fort Madison, Iowa.

He was a tool and die maker for several area businesses, spending most of his years at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in September of 2000.

He belonged to Calvary Lutheran Church, the Horticulture Club, and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM). He enjoyed collecting and repairing cuckoo clocks, and woodworking/refinishing.

Dave is survived by his beloved wife, Annette; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Zack Menke of Long Beach, California, and Tor and Terri Menke of Davenport; three grandchildren, Jacqueline Menke of Moline, Colton Menke of Davenport, and Raegan Menke of Iowa City; and two sisters, Fran Beck of Denver, Colorado, and Ruth Stewart of Washington, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Mary Ellen Searcy, Clarence Menke and Leonard Menke.
