David A. Geier, 61, of Albany, Illinois, died Sunday, April 11, 2021, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City.

A hospitality gathering to celebrate David’s life with Harris Pizza and drinks will be 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in David’s memory.

David Allan Geier was born September 3, 1959, and grew up in Wausau, Wisconsin. He married Rebecca Brown, with whom he had two children before divorcing. He worked for Waste Management as Operations Manager for several facilities including Rockford, Dekalb, Morrison and Peoria.

He loved being outdoors, especially bow-hunting and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed yardwork, cooking, and spending time with his family.

David is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Samantha Geier of New Windsor, Illinois; a daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Jon Ketelsen of Moline; his beloved granddaughter, IlaMay Geier; and several siblings, including Kim Geier of Appleton, Wisconsin, and Julie (Lonnie) Smith of Clinton, Arkansas.
