East Moline, Illinois A joint memorial service for Constance and Ferdinand "Bud" Kelting, Sun City, Arizona, formerly of East Moline, Illinois, and Davenport, Iowa, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral Home, 601 21st Street, Moline, Illinois. The Reverend Keith Speaks, Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt, Iowa, will officiate. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport, Iowa, where the Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. Visitation is one hour before the services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association Research Fund, 736 Federal Street, Davenport, Iowa 52803. Mrs. Kelting, 77, died Sunday, November 10, 2002, in her home in Sun City. Mr. Kelting, also 77, died Monday, November 11, 2002, in St. Joseph's Hospital, Phoenix. The former Constance Ann Kelly was born September 3, 1925, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Gladys (Bumgardner) Kelly. Ferdinand Kelting was born November 2, 1925, in New Liberty, Iowa, the son of Ferdinand J. and Erna (Kroh) Kelting. The couple were married on March 23, 1948, in Davenport, Iowa. After serving in the U. S. Navy in the Pacific Theater during WW II, Ferd was a sales manager in the auto parts distribution industry until 1972, when the couple purchased Olson's Auto Parts, East Moline, Illinois. They sold the business in 1988, and retired to Sun City, Arizona. Ferd was a member of Oakwood County Club, Coal Valley, Illinois, Milan Gun Club, and was active in downtown East Moline civic and business groups. In Sun City, he was a member of Willow Brook and Willow Creek Country Clubs, and the Sun City Conservation and Sports Club. His hobbies were hunting, target shooting, and golf, and he enjoyed his plane, boat, motor home, and cars. Connie enjoyed playing golf and traveling, and took special pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ferd was especially devoted to his mother, Erna Augusta Werling. The couple is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Nancy and Keith Hyman of Long Grove, Iowa, Eileen and Tom Yeggy of Davenport, Iowa, and Karen and Leo Blaser of Milan, Illinois; two grandchildren, Robert H. Brown III and his wife Jodi and their three children of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Stephanie J. Rodas and her husband Marvin and their two children of Crete, Illinois; a step-grandson, Shawn K. Hyman of Des Moines, Iowa; Ferdinand's sister and her husband, Ruth and Harold Goettsch of Davenport, Iowa; and Constance's brother, William Kelly of Rock Island, Illinois.
