Carole A. Deyo

Carole Ann Morford Deyo, 81, went to heaven on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Monday at Illinois City United Methodist Church, 12507 238th Street W, Illinois City. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Burial is in Illinois City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Illinois City United Methodist Church. Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory, Moline, is entrusted with arrangements.

The former Carole Ann Morford was born June 27, 1941, in Rock Island, the daughter of William Alvin and Hazel Lena (Preston) Morford. She shared a hospital room at birth with Annie Pizzuto (Knight) who became her lifelong friend and went to heaven July 28, 2022. Carole grew up on her family farm in Illinois City. She attended a one room schoolhouse in the country.

Carole joined the U.S. Air Force in 1960 and married James E. Deyo on August 18, 1963. They adopted a son, Roger James Deyo, at two years of age in 1970, in Labrador, Canada, where they were stationed.

She enjoyed dancing, gardening, traveling, camping (especially at Thompson on the Mississippi), and gatherings with friends and family.

Carole is survived by her son, Roger, of Sabula, Iowa; grandchildren, Samantha Deyo of Chicago, Alexandria Deyo of Rock Falls, Illinois, Paige Morales and her children Charlotte and Marlon, of Prophetstown, Illinois, Dallas Deyo of Clinton, Iowa, and Emma and Ashyr Deyo of Lyndon, Illinois; siblings, William Morford of Sherrard, Illinois, Dolly Weeks of Crestview, Florida, Janet (Gary) Swanson of Aledo, Illinois, and Sandy Blackard of Coal Valley. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; brothers, Allen and Butch Morford; and sisters, Bonnie, Nancy, and Susan Morford.
