Carol L. Bivins Geist, 60, of Moline, Illinois, passed away May 4, 2015, at home after an extended illness, surrounded by her loving family.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory. Carol will be remembered at the 11:00 a.m. mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline, on Sunday, May 10, 2015. Memorials may be made to the family. The Geist family is being served by Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory, Moline.

The former Carol Lee Bivins was born March 26, 1955, the daughter of John and Juanita Bivins. She graduated from Moline High School in 1973, and later earned a Licensed Practical Nurse distinction from Black Hawk College. She worked as a home health aide and later held various positions at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa.

Carol cared for, and loved all animals, especially cats. She enjoyed feeding the neighborhood wildlife, including birds, squirrels, and even raccoons. She was also a talented cook and baker, and loved sharing her delicious creations with family and friends.

Carol will be forever remembered by her sons, Kevin (Tiffany) Geist, and David (Nicole) Geist, all of Waterloo; daughters, Lauren Schnabel of Moline, and Heidi McKenna; granddaughters, Arielle and Jaiden; her mother, Juanita Bivins of Moline; sisters, Kathy Bivins Geiger (Glen) of Florida, Mary Bivins-Schnabel (Scott) of Moline, Jeannie Bivins Husar (Curtis) of Moline, and Diane Bivins Morrissey (Kevin) of Florida; nieces, Becky DeLaRosa, Elaine and Ruby Husar, and McKenna Morrissey; nephews, Justin DeLaRosa and Killian Morrissey; a cousin, Shelly Wilcox; as well as countless friends. She was preceded in death by her father, John Bivins, and a sister, Judy Bivins.
