Bruce M. Brown, 57, of East Moline, Illinois, died Monday, February 8, 2016, at his home.

A hospitality gathering celebrating Bruce's life is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, where there will be a time to share stories and memories at 6:30 p.m. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory under the direction of the Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials may be made to the family for an education fund to be established for his daughter, Jenna.

Bruce Michael Brown was born December 20, 1958, in Los Angeles, California, the son of Abrahn "Abbie" and June Katherine (Clements) Brown. He served six years in the U.S. Army. He married Barbara Ainslie on December 3, 1999, in Telluride, Colorado.

Bruce was self-employed as a painter, working for several family painting businesses in New Mexico.

He loved being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and lived for several years in the Jemez Mountains in New Mexico. Bruce truly enjoyed life, always having a smile on his face and bringing smiles to others, and was quick to help anyone in need.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Barbara, and their daughter, Jenna, both of East Moline; siblings, Rose and Leroy Griego, Jimmy Brown, and Clifford Brown; in-laws, Jennifer Schnerre, Gwen and Pete Vershaw, Ray and Sandy Ainslie, Sue Ulloa, Mark Ainslie, and Marcia Ainslie; many aunt and uncles, and numerous cousins, including Liz Echols, Randy Echols, Todd Echols, and Patricia Kovaschetz and her daughter, Beth Parker. He was the "favorite uncle" and shared a special bond with his nieces and nephews including Greg (Martís) Griego, Katherine (Mert Bowman) Griego-Bowman, A.B. (Kim) Griego, Kayla (Kadeem) Schnerre, Ali Schnerre, Dan Ainslie, Audrey Bernard, J.J. (April) Brown, Jeffrey Brown, and Amanda Paris; their children, Joseph, Jacob, Debra, Gregory, Gilbert, and Kelin; and a great-great-niece, Nevaeh. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, DeLourdes "Del" Brown, and a brother, Jeff Brown.
