Bonnie R. Liva

June 21, 1939 — July 20, 2022

On Wednesday, July 20, 2022, Bonnie R. Liva, of Moline, Illinois, passed away at the age of 83, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa surrounded by her loving family.

Bonita (Bonnie) Rachel Wells was born June 21, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Elmo and Gertrude (Erhardt) Wells. She married Roger B. Liva on June 10, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois. Bonnie graduated from Lindblom High School in Chicago.

In Bonnie's own words, she lived a very good life filled with family, friends, love, laughter, and music. Throughout her life Bonnie loved to dance, sing and spend time with family and friends. Bonnie enjoyed golfing and travel, and was a loyal and dedicated supporter of her granddaughter Aviana. She spent her life caring for her family while also working with her husband remodeling houses, and managing their properties and business until the age of 78.

She wanted to be remembered as someone who brought happiness to others, as someone who could make people laugh and feel joy. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. As those closest to Bonnie reflect on the impact she made in their lives through letters and correspondence a common message appears. She was “My other mother, My safe haven, She always made me laugh, She always made me feel loved, She was a cherished, loyal friend”. A beautiful and wonderful way to be remembered. People will forget what you did in life, but they will never forget how you made them feel.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Renee Liva and James Zahara of Moline; a son-in-law, Mark Buehler; her granddaughter, Aviana Zahara; and sister, Donna Satala. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roger Liva; and her loving daughter, Terez Liva-Buehler.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in memory of Bonnie Liva.
