Bobby G. Erwin, Sr., 73, of Moline, Illinois, died Friday, November 3, 2006, in his residence.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. The Reverend Paul Lindblad, Moline Gospel Temple, will officiate. Cremation will follow the services and private burial will be in National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
Bobby Gene Erwin was born May 18, 1933, in Downing, Missouri, the son of Ova Dee and Bessie Louise (Jackson) Erwin. He married Adele Carstens on November 22, 1956, in Moline. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and was a bus driver for Davenport Community Schools for 13 years. He was a shade tree mechanic and enjoyed sports, bowling, fishing and carpentry.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Adele; six children and their spouses, Kimberly Ballou of Kewanee, Illinois, Christopher and Sheree Erwin of Coal Valley, Denita and Joseph Stoker of Bettendorf, Bobby G. Erwin Jr. of Bettendorf, Michelle and Gregory Woods of Bondurant, Iowa, and Melissa Erwin of Bettendorf; 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; his sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Leo Waddle of Rock Island; one niece and two nephews.
