Blair Thomas Begyn, 24, of Cape Coral, Florida, formerly of Coal Valley, died Saturday, October 25, 2003, in the emergency room at Illini Hospital, Silvis, from injuries received in a motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon in Henry County, Illinois.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Coal Valley, preceded by family prayers at 10:00 a.m. at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. The Reverend Michael Schaab will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an educational fund which will be established for his sons.

Blair was born January 25, 1979, in Silvis, Illinois, the son of Gregory J. and Roxanne (Koehn) Begyn. He graduated from Moline High School in 1998, and attended American Institute of Commerce. He married Jennifer Shepard on September 3, 2000, in Rock Island. He was a corporate driver for New World Van Lines for the past four years. He was the youngest driver in the company's history to be given his own truck. He had been an altar boy at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church and loved fishing.

Blair is survived by his wife, Jennifer; two sons, Ryan and Matthew; his father, Gregory Begyn, his mother and step-father, Roxanne and Steven Peterson, and his brother Andrew Begyn, all of Coal Valley; his paternal Grandparents, John and Sharon Begyn of Milan; and his maternal grandparents, Robert and Edith Koehn of Davenport, and Giles and Lola Czupka of Inverness, Florida.
