Beverly J. Murdock

Beverly Murdock, 83, of East Moline, Illinois, died Saturday, January 9, 2016, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, East Moline, with The Reverend Becky Sherwood officiating. Visitation is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Cremation will take place prior to services at Trimble Crematory. Private burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church, the V Foundation for Cancer Research, or to a favorite charity.

The former Beverly Jean Lanman was born August 10, 1932, in Rural Davis County, Iowa, the daughter of Russell and Gladys (Swaim) Lanman. She married Lawrence Gerald Murdock on November 6, 1953, in Ottumwa, Iowa. He died February 28, 2002.

She was a 58-year, and very active, member of First Presbyterian Church, East Moline. She bowled for over 40-years in the Crown Jewels league, was an avid bridge player for 60-years, and a mall walker for 25-years. She enjoyed traveling, sewing and quilting, spending time with her family and friends, and was especially proud of her grandchildren. She had a very generous heart - always willing to do whatever she could to help others.

Beverly is survived by three children and their spouses, Susan and Kim Goudreau of Dixon, Illinois, Douglas and Ann Murdock of Statesville, North Carolina, and Lisa Murdock-Neff of Springfield, Illinois; grandchildren, Philip Goudreau and his girlfriend, Erica, Audrey Goudreau, Rachael Murdock, and Laura Neff; a great-granddaughter, Lillian Goudreau; siblings, Mary Webster, Sharon (Joe) Collier, Jan Latta, and Carrol (Esther), Craig, Raymond (Delorris), and Earl Lanman; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Jim Buche of East Moline. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, and brothers, Dave, Max, and Keith Lanman.
