East Moline, Illinois Beulah Slaten, 89, of East Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, May 1, 2003, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Burial is in National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Calvary Church of the Quad Cities or American Heart Association. The former Beulah Harris was born April 14, 1914, in Lone Jack, Missouri, the daughter of William Wallace and Dora (Beonson) Harris. She married Millard D. Slaten in 1944 in Syracuse, Kansas. He died in 1986. She previously owned and operated a beauty salon in Colorado. She was a member of Calvary Church of the Quad Cities, Moline, the Moline Gospel Temple Quilting Club, and various church groups, and volunteered as a reader and helper at Washington Elementary School, Moline. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and baking. Beulah is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Michael Puck, and a son, Norman E. Slaten, all of Moline; two grandchildren, Jennifer Fairchild and her husband Chad of Moline, and Andrew Puck of Princeton, Illinois; and a sister, Grace Marie Colombo of Scotts Valley, California. She was preceded in death by two sons, Charles and Robert Slaten, four sisters, Myrtle Conley, Mabel Harris, Hazel Farnsworth, and Ruby Stubbs, and two brothers, Emmett and Clarence Harris.
