Betty Buser Michaelkamp, 87, of Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, August 22, 2012, in Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.
Services are 1:00 p.m. Friday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend John Sullivan officiating. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
The former Betty Jane Miller was born July 5, 1925, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Esther Alice Kaufman Miller. She married John Buser on October 1, 1944, in Moline. He died August 11, 1968. She married Darwin Michaelkamp on November 15, 1969, in Green Rock, Illinois. He died March 25, 1977. She had worked at the Rock Island Arsenal during WW II, and later in the 1960?s. She was a member of King?s Daughters and the Business Women?s Club, and enjoyed flowers and decorating her home.
Betty is survived by two children and their spouses, Donald and Denise Buser of East Moline, Illinois, and Cheryl and Thom Kasinger of Moline; five grandchildren and their spouses, Donald F. Buser and his fiancée Michelle Denning, Lisa and Brian Bush, Thomas III and Eliza Kasinger, John and Brenda Kasinger, and Becky and Michael Landstreet; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands and three sisters, Louise Stocking, June Nixon, and Kathryn Miller.
