Betty McCubbin, 80, of Geneseo, Illinois, formerly of Port Byron, Illinois, and Florida, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011, in her home.
There will be no public services. Private burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Beacon of Hope Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, is assisting the family.
The former Betty Maxine Trask was born January 11, 1931, in Humphreys, Missouri, the daughter of Archie and Elsie (Carmichael) Trask. She married Eugene McCubbin on October 12, 1946, in Davenport, Iowa. He died February 11, 1994.
Betty is survived by her children and their spouses, Cheryl and Terry Thompson of Geneseo, Gene and Brenda McCubbin of Dewey, Arizona, Michele and Terry Hileman of Aledo, Illinois, Tony and Cheryl McCubbin of Erie, Illinois, Brian and Wanda McCubbin of Tiffin, Iowa, and Tammy McCubbin of Hillsdale, Illinois; 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and a sister, Carol Sevier, and a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Sue Trask, all of Naples, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Michael McCubbin, a daughter, Cynthia McCubbin, a grandson, Michael Thompson, and a brother, Jack Trask.
