Betty L. Westerdahl

November 23, 1925 — December 30, 2020

Betty L. Westerdahl, 95, of East Moline, Illinois, formerly of Moline, died Wednesday, December 30, 2020, in her home.

Private services are 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Mask and social distancing protocols will be followed. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory and entombment will be in Moline Memorial Park Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice.

The former Elizabeth Louise Faser was born November 23, 1925, in Lockport, Illinois, to Alfred and Hazel (Olsen) Faser. She married Clifford Wietting in 1945, in Joliet, Illinois. She married Walter Westerdahl in 1973, in Moline. He died in 1991. She was secretary and claims adjuster for United States Insurance Company for 27 years, retiring in 1987. She previously was clerk for Rock Island County Coroner Les Banning. She belonged to the East End Club and enjoyed bowling and playing the organ.

Betty is survived by her son, Wayne Wietting of Moline; a foster-son, Freeman Brewer of East Moline; five grandchildren, John Wietting and his wife Amy, Becky Crotty, Edward Brewer, Michael Brewer, and Cynthia Borgel; and three great-grandchildren, Austin Wietting and his wife Kali, Logan Wietting and his wife Samantha, and Nicholas Snell. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her daughter-in-law, Shirley Wietting.
