Betty J. Mccaw

Betty J. McCaw, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, formerly of Preemption, Illinois, died peacefully on November 9, 2016.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Preemption United Methodist Church. Burial is in Preemption Cemetery. Visitation is 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley.

Betty was born on July 2, 1922 to Edwin and Myrtle (White) Falline in Sherrard, Illinois. She married Daryl McCaw of Preemption, both graduates of Sherrard High School. Daryl preceded her in death in 1969. She and her children continued on with a family farm tradition dating back to the 1840's. Betty was a long time member and supporter of the Preemption Methodist Church, a pianist for their choir, a Sunday school and Bible school teacher. She also was a member of many Mercer County Committees as well as a volunteer for various Quad City Arts and Hospital fund raising efforts after Daryl's death. She also enjoyed her friends and second home in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Betty is survived by her two children, Dane McCaw of Colorado Springs, and Jill Alexander of Napa, California, her husband, Bud, and their family. Betty is also survived by a brother James Falline of Moline, Illinois and a sister Mary Lee Lautz of Florida.
