Betty J. Howard, 77, of East Moline, Illinois, died Saturday, November 25, 2006, in Pathway Hospice at Trinity at Terrace Park, Bettendorf, Iowa.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with Chaplain Douglas Schoonover officiating. Entombment is in Moline Memorial Park Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer?s Association or Pathway Hospice.
Betty Jean Nelson was born October 13, 1929, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer and Sylvia (Kubicek) Nelson. She married Roland Eugene Howard on June 12, 1948, in Moline. He died June 30, 1977. She had been employed at John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline.
Betty is survived by six daughters and their husbands, Nancy and Robert Skillman of Papillion, Nebraska, Ardith and James Johnson of Mesquite, Texas, Deborah and Rand Peterson of East Moline, Theresa Bear of Naperville, Illinois, Wanda and Brian Roberts of Gold Canyon, Arizona, and Janet and Larry Jahns of Davenport; seven grandchildren, Natalee Hart, Alexander Skillman, Jadith Siekman, Jill Petersen, Julie Roberts, Justin Roberts, and Alissa Weber; two step-grandchildren, Trisha and Chad Peterson; five great-grandchildren, Joshua and Abigail Siekman, and Abigail, Lindsey and Samuel Petersen; two step-great-grandchildren, Aubree and Kylee Peterson; and three sisters, Dorothy Kinsey of Moline, Shirley Huntley of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and Sandra Hoste of Coal Valley. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Donald Nelson.
Betty?s family extends a thank you to the entire staff of The Fountain Senior Living Memory Care Unit, Pathway Hospice, and Dr. Robert Flowers for their compassionate care.
