Betty A. Mcbride

Betty A. McBride, 90, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, April 3, 2016, at her home in Dallas.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with The Reverends Flint and Debbie Miller officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Moline, or Alzheimer's Association.

The former Betty Arlene Lindblad was born October 4, 1925, in East Moline, Illinois, the daughter of John and Hazel (Brown) Lindblad. She married William "Floyd" McBride on August 1, 1948, in Moline. He died November 30, 1990.

Betty graduated from Moline High School and the Moline Public Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for Dr. C.S. Costigan and then Dr. Shashi Upadhya, retiring in 1986.

She was a 75-year member of First Baptist Church where she served on many boards, as a Sunday School teacher and a youth worker. She was a member of the Moline Public Hospital Nurses Alumni, and a tutor for the LIFE program. After retiring from nursing, Betty became interested in oil painting and was quite a talented artist.

Betty is survived by four children, James and Diana McBride of Creede, Colorado, Jane and Tom Olmsted of Richardson, Texas, Janice McBride and Bridget Marchese-McBride of Coal Valley, Illinois, and Julia and John Sokol of Seattle, Washington, 11 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, John and Robert Lindblad.
