Milan, Illinois Betty A. Hamerlinck, 78, of Milan, Illinois, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, in St. Louis University Hospitals, St. Louis, Missouri. Family prayers are 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley, followed by the Funeral Mass for family and friends at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan. Rev. Anthony Ego and Rev. Richard Barclift will officiate. Burial is in Western Township Cemetery, Orion. The Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Visitation will follow the Rosary until 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. The former Betty Curry was born January 20, 1925, in rural Milan, the daughter of Alvin and Katherine (Carlson) Curry. She married Dale J. Hamerlinck on September 16, 1944, in St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan, where she was a life-time member. She was a member of the Mission Women of the church, and a former member of the Sherrard Lions Club. She enjoyed her Card Club, which had been meeting for 50 years, and also enjoyed baking, cooking, and spoiling her grandchildren. Betty is survived by her husband, Dale; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Jane and Jim Grove of Hope, Arkansas, and Nancy and Craig Afeld of Hot Springs, Arkansas; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Daniel and Sue Hamerlinck of Hot Springs, and Martin Hamerlinck of Davenport; 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; her mother, Katherine Curry, of Silvis; a sister and brother-in-law, Bernice and Bill Hamerlinck of Orion; and a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Ruth Curry of Alpha.
