Beryl Taylor, 83, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Monday, August 9, 2010, in Trinity Rock Island.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley, with the Reverend Jerry Helms officiating. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Visitation is 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Beryl Taylor Memorial Fund to be established by the family.
The former Beryl Elaine Blaser was born July 12, 1927, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Albert Jr. and Hilda Emelia (Anderson) Blaser. She married Raymond Taylor on March 22, 1946, in Coal Valley. He died April 2, 2002.
Beryl worked at Buddy L Toy Company in East Moline, worked in the kitchen at Oak Glen Home in Coal Valley, and was a manager of Hot Sam Pretzel in Southpark Mall for ten years.
She and her husband were charter members of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship of the Quad Cities. She was a former member of the Moline Gospel Temple, where she taught Sunday school and worked in the nursery and kitchen. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Beryl is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Dr. John Holmes of Wheaton, Maryland; sons and daughters-in-law, Marshall and Denise Taylor of Coal Valley, Dennis and Judy Taylor of Champaign, Illinois, and Randy and Angela Taylor of Saratoga, California; ten grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Dwayne and Pat Blaser of Coal Valley. She was preceded in death by her husband and sons, Kirk and Terry Taylor.
