Barbara J. "Jody" Simpson

Barbara J. "Jody" Simpson, 85, of Moline, Illinois, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport, Iowa.

Visitation is 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Graveside services will immediately follow at Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should meet in the parking lot at Trimble Pointe by 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America Quad Cities Chapter 299.

The former Barbara Joan Armstrong was born March 22, 1934, in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Pedigo) Armstrong. She married Billy E. Simpson on February 8, 1951, in Monmouth. He died January 11, 2015.

Jody worked with the handicapped for several years and enjoyed reading and going to the casino.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and John Inhelder of Davenport, Billie and Roger Nelson of Moline, and Mary and Bob Mings of Roseville, Illinois; grandchildren, Jen (Paul) Meier of Bettendorf, Iowa, Jaime Inhelder of Davenport, Stacy (Rick Jared) Boatman of Hampton, Illinois, Mandy Stinemetz of Loudonville, Ohio, Lissa Mings of Roseville, and Lane (Hillary) Mings of Knoxville, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Kyleigh and John Meier, Brittany Agnew, Kayla (Trey) Figley, Sierra and Alexa Stinemetz, Brandon King, and Brinley Mings; great-great-grandchildren, Jaden, Jayce and Maci Mae Agnew; siblings, Frank Armstrong, Jr. of Ohio, Mary Ann Finch of Preemption, Illinois, and Gwen (Francis) Shaver of Monmouth; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and four siblings.
