Barbara A. Martinez

Barbara A. Martinez, 71, of East Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, April 5, 2018, at home.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Church of the Quad Cities, Moline. Visitation is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Prior to services, cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory. Memorials may be made to the church.

The former Barbara Anne Ladowski was born December 30, 1946, in Chicago, the daughter of Theodore and Leona (Blair) Ladowski. She married Anthony Martinez on July 28, 1962, in St. Louis, Missouri.

She was a Certified Nutritional Consultant, working at Better Life and Nutrition in Moline, and later in the kitchen at Hillcrest Grade School in East Moline. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, exercising, dancing with her husband, and was an excellent cook. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family.

Barb is survived by her husband of over 55 years, Tony; five children, Tony (Sherry) Martinez, Jr. of East Moline, Joyce (Rick) Peters of Bemidji, Minnesota, Ron (Jacque) Martinez of East Moline, Angie (Skip) Roggenbauer of Elk Point, South Dakota, and Gloria (John) Polanshek of Sandpoint, Idaho; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brothers, Ted (Theresa), Don (Myrna), and Al (Joanne) Ladowski. She was preceded in death by her parents.
