The former Arlowin West Wall was born November 27, 1917, in Bellflower, Missouri, the daughter of Zachariah Robert and Arvilla Lee (West) Wall. She graduated from Bellflower High School. She went on to earn her BS in Education from the University of Missouri at Columbia, where she attended all four years along with her brother, Zach. She married Spurgeon Sparks on April 9, 1950, in Santa Ana, California. He died November 20, 1972. She later married William Paris on August 25, 1985, in Yorba Linda, California. He died April 15, 2003.

Arlie was a home economics teacher in Alton, Missouri from 1940 to 1941, and then in Walnut, Illinois from 1942 to 1945. She then was an air hostess with MidContinent Airlines and Braniff International Airways, both based out of Kansas City, Missouri. Her last employment was with Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she was a dietician.

Arlie enjoyed traveling all over the world, ballroom dancing, and was an excellent cook and seamstress. She liked to play cards, dominos, and later in life could often be found working with Sudoku puzzles and word searches.

She was a loving wife who was blessed with two wonderful husbands. Above all else, she cherished spending time with her family. She was extremely proud of her three children and their accomplishments, with the joys of her life being her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Arlie's code for living was "Be nice, play fair, and share!". She was a true lady, 100% of the time!

Arlie is survived by three children and their spouses, Savilla Lee (Sparks) and Jim Holstine of Milan, Sharla Frances (Sparks) and Rob Purnell of Bend, Oregon, and Robert Wall and Lorraine Sparks of Walnut Creek, California; grandchildren and their spouses, Kevin Robert and Kayla Purnell of Lantana, Texas, Lauren Kelly Purnell of Fife, Washington, Russell Lee and Natalie Holstine of Reynolds, Illinois, and Aidan Robert Sparks of Walnut Creek; great-grandchildren, Luke Kevin Purnell and Case Matthew Purnell; and a brother, Zachariah R. Wall, Jr. of San Diego, California. She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands.
