Amie R. Balty

Amie R. Balty, 93, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Friday, September 29, 2006, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.

Services are 2 p.m. Monday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley. Burial will be in Burr Oak Cemetery, Burr Oak, Kansas. Visitation is 1 hour before the services. Memorials may be made to Gideon International or Coal Valley Bible Missionary Church.

The former Amie Rachel Bender was born March 31, 1913, in the sod house her father built near Wray, Colorado. She married Raymond M. Balty on December 25, 1931, in Jewell County, Kansas. He died September 27, 2003.

Amie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Glenda Balty of Milan; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her brother, Albert Bender of Darby, Montana.
