Alta M. Reminger, 87, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Trinity Moline.
A Memorial Mass is 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, and at a later date at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Leopolis, Wisconsin, with burial to follow at St. Mary?s Catholic Church cemetery, Leopolis. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leopolis.
The former Alta Mae Stauffacher was born May 29, 1925, in Beloit, Wisconsin, the daughter of Peter and Ella (Wellman) Stauffacher. She married Joseph Reminger at Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn, New York on October 5, 1957.
Alta graduated from Beloit High School in 1943. She enlisted in the Army (Women?s Army Corps) in May 1945 and served continuously on active duty until her retirement in September 1965. Following retirement, she completed LPN training in San Francisco, California, and worked as an LPN until 1996.
She enjoyed playing bridge, going to plays, and was especially happy to have attended the WWII Honor Flight to Washington D.C. in April 2011.
Alta is survived by her husband of 54 years, Joseph, of Moline, sisters-in-law, Joyce Reminger, Della Borre, Marge Zillmer, and Judy (Ron) Kazda, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Agnes, a brother, Ralph, and a brother-in-law, John Reminger.
