Services for Albert L. "Al" Rosson 79, of Coal Valley, Illinois are 1:30 pm Friday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Officiating will be Reverend John Mattingly of First Baptist Church, Joy, Illinois. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois. Memorials may be given to the family Mr. Rosson died Monday, August 5, 2002 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Albert Lee Rosson was born February 25, 1923 in Holden, Missouri the son of Ralph R. and Opal M. (Lloyd) Rosson. He married Cleo Lucille Gregg on April 29, 1950 in Rock Island, Illinois. Sergeant Rosson served his country during World War II as a tank driver in General Patton's Company "A" 191st Tank Battalion. Mr. Rosson was employed as a plumber, steamfitter, and welder at the IH Farmall Works in Rock Island, for 32 years retiring in 1982. Al was a member of the Rock Island VFW 1303, the Rock Island Conservation Club, Milan Gun Club, N.F.A.A., UAW local 1304, Rock Island Family Campers, and was a past president of the Pepper Stepper Square Dance Club in Bettendorf. He enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, tinkering with anything that was broken, woodworking, reading, gardening, spending time with his buddy Zeke, but most of all loved his family, whom will always remember and miss him. Survivors for Mr. Rosson include; his wife, Lucille of Coal Valley; two daughters and a son-in-law, Deborah and Kenneth Brower of Milan, Illinois, and Juanita Rosson-Darin of Rock Island; three grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer and Ron Jacobs, Kenneth and Missy Brower, and Kevin and Jackie Brower, seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ansel and Wilburn Rosson; three sisters-in-law, Ruby and Aubrey Westmoreland of Butler, Missouri, Wilma and Ron Fane of Princeton, Illinois, and Audrey Gregg of Viola , Illinois, and two brothers-in-law, Dale and Allie Mae Gregg of Harrisville, Missouri, and Homer and Lottie Gregg of Springhill, Kansas. His parents, a brother, and two sisters preceded him in death.
