Coal Valley, Illinois Agnes Swieter, 74, of Coal Valley, died Sunday, April 25, 2004, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Green Rock Baptist Church, Colona. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Memorials may be made to the family. The former Agnes Catherine Thomann was born March 22, 1930, in Iowa City, Iowa, and raised by her family in Decorah, Iowa. She married John Swieter on April 30, 1955, in Preston, Minnesota. She had been employed in the kitchen at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley, for 11 years. She was a member of Green Rock Baptist Church. Agnes is survived by her husband, John; five children and their spouses, Gwen and Ruben Escajeda of Coal Valley, Denise Beckman and Kevin Reeves of Hampton, Milo and Lois Swieter of Holland, Michigan, Tom and Fay Swieter of Spring Hill, Louisiana, and Roszanna Harvey and Roy Howser of Lincoln, Missouri; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
